A six-month rehearsal plan
Can you sound ready in six months? An honest rehearsal plan
You won't finish a language in six months. You can become noticeably clearer in interviews, pitches and presentations — by rehearsing full answers, measuring delivery, and redoing the line.
If you have six months before interviews, pitches or presentations in English, ask a smaller question than fluency. Can the room understand you, follow your point, and remember your last line?
A general course promises coverage. A speaking room demands proof: one full answer, at a steady pace, without filler swallowing the message, with a structure people can follow.
TalkMaestro is built for that second job. It is a private AI speaking coach for iPhone. You choose the room — interviews, pitches, sales calls, presentations, meetings, hard conversations — record a complete answer inside the app, see feedback on pace, clarity, structure and filler words with transcript and one precise correction, then redo the line while it is fresh. It does not record real calls or meetings. It is coaching feedback, not a guarantee of interview, sales or presentation results.

What six months can and cannot do
Language progress is commonly described in CEFR levels from A1 to C2. A Dear Duolingo answer titled“Can you learn a language in 6 months?” — published August 18, 2026 by Cindy Blanco — cautions you cannot learn a whole language in six months, with approximately:
| Level | Six-month caution |
|---|---|
| A1 | Likely with regular study and suitable resources. |
| A2 | Possible with substantial study time. |
| B1 | Harder; immersion and language similarity matter. |
| B2 | Highly unlikely within six months. |
| C1 | Highly unlikely within six months. |
| C2 | Advanced skills that many learners never reach; not a six-month target. |
Use that as a guardrail, not a verdict. Employers and audiences do not grade your whole language. They remember whether your answer had proof, shape and composure.
This plan does not promise fluency. Use 60 to 90 rehearsed answers as a planning target, not a guaranteed result. Track your own completed takes and delivery measurements.
How to use TalkMaestro in this plan
Keep three habits:
- Speak the real answer. Pick one practice room and record the full 60- to 90-second take, not a word list.
- See what the room will hear. Open the readout for pace, clarity, structure, filler and transcript. Keep one correction.
- Redo it while fresh. The next drill carries the lesson forward. For pressure, use Live Coach roleplay, which listens to your full answer, names one strength, fixes one weakness, and asks for the redo.
Start here: job interview, sales pitch, presentation, executive update, difficult conversation, public speaking, and all 12 speaking practice guides. Background: speaking pace guide and every readout metric.

Four measurable drills, twice a week
Do two 25-minute sessions per week. Record everything in the app. Count reps, not hours.
1. Pace and finish drill
Record a 60-second answer to one interview or pitch question. Check the readout for pace and clarity. If you rush the ending, mark where. Redo only the last three sentences, slower, with a clean final sentence. Done when you finish two takes in a row without trailing off. Log: date, prompt, finished-strong yes/no.
2. Filler audit
Record a 90-second update with no script. Open the transcript and count your top filler — um, uh, like, you know, actually. Record the same update again, pausing silently instead. Done when your top filler drops versus your own baseline. Log: filler type, count take 1 vs take 2.
3. Proof-shape-close
Use this frame: point in one sentence, proof in two sentences, close in one sentence. Record it. Check the readout for structure. If the point is vague, rewrite that first sentence in 12 words or fewer and redo. Done when a colleague could repeat your point back. Log: written first sentence.
4. Pressure redo with Live Coach
Open Live Coach in your room. Answer out loud to the end, without restarting. Hear the one strength and one fix, then give the answer again immediately. Done when you complete answer → feedback → redo twice without quitting mid-take. Log: fix carried to redo.

Six-month template
Months 1–2: One room only. Example: interviews. Twice weekly, drills 1 and 3. Build 12 core answers.
Months 3–4: Keep first room once weekly. Add a second room, example: presentations. Add drill 2. You should have 30+ recorded takes.
Months 5–6: Weekly rotation: one maintenance take in room one, one new prompt in room two, one Live Coach pressure redo. Re-record your five most important answers. Keep transcripts of your best versions.
Weekly checklist to copy:
- 2 sessions, full takes recorded
- 1 readout reviewed for pace, clarity, structure, filler
- 1 correction rewritten as a single line
- 1 immediate redo completed
- Best line saved
If you miss a week, do not double hours. Do one 25-minute session and resume.
What to expect
Six months does not guarantee native-like fluency. Rehearsal can help you work toward sounding prepared: steadier pace, fewer fillers, a clear point with proof, and a calm close. That is what interviewers and buyers actually score.

Frequently asked questions
Can you learn a whole language in six months?
No. An August 18, 2026 Dear Duolingo answer by Cindy Blanco cautions that six months of regular study likely reaches A1, possibly A2 with substantial time, while B1 is trickier and B2/C1 highly unlikely. This plan targets sounding prepared in specific rooms, not general fluency.
Does TalkMaestro record real calls or meetings?
No. It is a private rehearsal room: you record a take inside the app and get coaching feedback. It is not a call recorder, hiring evaluator or meeting-surveillance tool, and feedback is not a guarantee of interview, sales or presentation results.
How much does TalkMaestro cost?
The iPhone app is free to download. Pro options displayed on talkmaestro.com are USD 3.99 weekly, USD 7.99 monthly and USD 49.99 yearly, with subscription terms confirmed through Apple before purchase.
